Supporting a few comedic jokes may help finally put ALS on ice. Empire City Casino, the host venue for one of the area’s largest simultaneous ice bucket challenges occurring every August in support of ALS research, is taking the fight against the debilitating disease one step further by hosting the inaugural Quinn for the Win Comedy Benefit on Thursday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the casino’s Good Time Room. One hundred percent of ticket sales benefit Yonkers native Pat Quinn, who was diagnosed with ALS more than five years ago, and his charitable organization Quinn for the Win.
Comedians Chris Monty and Jimmy Q will deliver jokes to raise valuable dollars to support Quinn’s care and additional ALS research. Hailing from Queens, Monty’s two-decade career in comedy and television transcends multiple generations from baby boomers to millennials. His recent projects include the Amazon Prime special, What’s The Worst That Could Happen, and the Netflix original series, Orange is the New Black. Joining him is Jimmy Q, who brings his brutally honest humor about life to audiences all across the region.
