Bands for two nights will rock East City Park, in Moscow, ID, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., July 18-19th. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Festival Passes $70 can be purchased at One World Café, Book People and Hunga Dunga Brewing Co. Single night tickets are $40 at the gate. The second night of the Rendezvous in the Park music and arts festival, will be most memorable and should not be missed—opening with local band, The Boneless Boys. Originally from Sacramento, California, the band moved to Moscow, Idaho to start their musical career. They quickly built a rapport with the community. They have performed at open mics as well as in local breweries, cafes and pubs. They play a unique blend of soft-rock and indie music, covering bands including The Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, R.E.M., Queens of the Stone Age, and others. They were wildly popular at their year’s Rendezvous Showcase, performing with high energy and intensity.
Zydeco musician, C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band. They deliver soulful vocals with masterful accordion-driven Zydeco and Blues. Originally from Texas, Chenier, has performed alongside many internationally recognized artists including his GRAMMY® awarded father, Clifton Chenier (King of Zydeco), Paul Simon, Joe Sample and Ray Parker, Jr. He has performed at large festivals and venues such as the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Chicago Blues Festival and Austin’s SXSW Music Conference. In addition to his GRAMMY® award nomination, C.J. has received many major awards including the Living Blues Critics’ Poll Award, Indie Award (from AFIM) for Best Zydeco Album, Coups de Coeur (Blows of Heart), Blues Category Award from l'Académie Charles Cros (France) and Best of the Beat Best Zydeco Album (Offbeat Magazine).
The climax of Saturday night will feature the world-renowned The Original Wailers, hailing all the way from Jamaica. The Grammy-nominated band was formed by Al Anderson in 2006, inspired by the music of Bob Marley. It all started In December 1973, in London by recommendation of Paul Kossoff that Al Anderson was sent to sit in for him to record “Natty Dread” album, Bob Marley’s first solo album. From then, Al Anderson was the lead guitarist for Bob Marley and Wailers until 1981. Al Anderson is responsible for the most memorable guitar solos in the history of reggae, like “No Woman, No Cry,” and “Three O’clock Road Block.” Andersons’ musical achievements with Bob Marley & The Wailers, several of whose albums went platinum.
