Why is it called Rock on the Beach TWO? The Band performed their first Rock on the Beach back in 2019 to rave reviews from the audience. "Playing an all-rock concert was a lot of fun for the Band, too," says CCCB member Holly Anderson, who has played tuba in the Band since 2012. Longtime CCCB flutist Sue Proto adds, "When the audience already knows the songs, they can really get into it."

Getting into it-head-bopping, clapping, singing along, and dancing in the seats-is highly encouraged at this concert. And this while may be billed as an encore celebration, the program is all-new, featuring music by rock-n-roll royals including Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Queen, and Journey. Some of CCCB conductor Tom Borning's original arrangements are on the program, too. He's arranged –specifically for the CCCB-ABBA's Dancing Queen, Kool and the Gang's Celebration, and the concert opener, Here Comes the Sun, from The Beatles' Abbey Road. (Check out the CCCB concert graphic, a whimsical tribute to the iconic cover art of that album.)

This retro-rock revelry is presented free of charge to the Cape Cod community by the Cape Cod Concert Band, an all-volunteer 52-piece wind and percussion ensemble, conducted by Tom Borning. The Band is supported by audience donations, business sponsors, and grants from the Mass Cultural Council, the Cape Cod Melody Tent, and the Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation.
