Join this 60ish minute class in a series of movement cues, accompanied by a curated playlist of multi-genre pop music. The format is open but guided throughout. No previous training is required, but open-mindedness is a prerequisite. All participants are required to sign a waiver to join the class. 10 am–2 pm Mindful art activities with Northwest Creative & Expressive Arts Institute (NWCEAI) NWCEAI is a Seattle-based non-profit organization committed to providing exceptional education and training in the creative and expressive arts. NWCEAI believes that by promoting the value of creativity as a recognized, respected, and integral part of human services, we honor the human experience. Letter writing with A Resting Place Derek Orbiso Dizon is the owner of A Resting Place, a grief and loss cultural center located in the Seattle Chinatown-International District. He is a Filipino American multidisciplinary artist, social worker, and grief companion residing in the ancestral lands of the Duwamish People (Seattle, WA). Much of Dizon’s creative works revolve around his path of navigating mourning and remembrance using mediums of storytelling, illustration, and installation, as ritual to commemorate memories of love and ancestry that have passed on. Dreamstation by Mia Imani You deserve to rest. Sleep impacts every aspect of our lives—the ability to be mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually balanced directly relates to our quality of rest. Dreamstation is a relaxation space curated by dream doula Mia Imani, an invitation to immerse ourselves in a moment of respite. The pop-up space features soft surfaces, tools, and practices for personal and collective rest and intentional introspection. This space offers stillness and the opportunity to envision a world where mindfulness and healing are core values. We deserve to dream. 10:30 am–12:30 pm Silent reading with West Seattle Book Club West Seattle Book Club is focused on cultivating neighborhood gatherings where all are welcome to come just as they are, to read together, feel and be a part of a community, and experience literary joy. Live Music by Shelby Natasha Shelby Natasha is a songwriter and music producer in Seattle, Washington. Heavily influenced by her upbringing living between China and the Pacific Northwest, her music is a blend of alt-RnB and Chinese folk music. She plays the Chinese traditional instrument, Guzheng, on top of lofi beats, interweaving the folk music of her roots with modern production. 1–2 pm Sound bath by Biom Biom is sharing a one-hour experience of sound healers playing in concert. Biom uses sound, plant, and light therapy to help clear the mind, release stressful energy, and reach a deep meditative state. All of the instruments are acoustic, using the resonance of crystal bowls and metal gongs to wash your body with waves of healing frequencies. The vibrations help to loosen up stagnant energy throughout the body which can relieve tension. Biom is a studio space located in Seattle's International District. Hot drinks and snacks will be for sale in the cafe hosted by Shooby Doo.
