Kick off your holiday shopping season with the Santa Rosa Holiday Doll Show! Hosted annually by the Redwood Empire Doll and Study Club, a UFDC Chapter, it's an opportunity to connect with doll and toy collectors and creators from near and far. Over 80 tables of dealers selling antique and modern dolls and toys create an environment for learning, celebrating, and treasure hunting!
Every doll has a personality: an artist, a maker, and a buyer who fell in love. They are often our earliest companions and the bearers of our secret dreams. They are important to our development and as a club we care about how they develop. We carry their stories into the future because they tell us so much about the time and culture where they were made.
This show is not just an opportunity to shop, but to share memories and deepen connections. We encourage you to bring a friend, eat lunch in the lobby (delights from Lone Pine General Store), get a special doll appraised for free by experts from The Doll Mercantile, and stay the full length of the event examining tables and talking to dealers. They love to tell you about their dolls, and every turn you take around the room, you'll spot something you missed before.
The November 2024 show will feature a Fashion Doll Reclamation Event. The New Alexandria Creative Group team will walk participants through choosing a naked cast-off cleaned and restored fashion doll, styling its hair, finishing sewing a simple outfit to fit, accessorizing and packaging it as a unique character, and photographing it in our doll Photo Booth. For $50 they will leave with a customized doll, new skills, and a treasured memory. Ages 7+. Space is limited. This activity takes 30-60 minutes.
The club hosts this show annually to reach out to the community and connect with other doll, toy, and history enthusiasts. The United Federation of Doll Clubs, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization with the goal of being the foremost in research, education, conservation, and appreciation of dolls. Members of the local chapter meet monthly in Santa Rosa to share presentations about dolls and show and tell from their collections. Guests are welcome.
