Schenectady’s Little Italy Street Fest, an annual celebration of Italian culture and food on North Jay Street, will return on September 7, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a diverse spectrum of free events and activities for all ages. N Jay St, between Union St and South Ave will be transformed with an array of Italian street food, craft vendors, and two outdoor stages. Music is non-stop. The Main Stage with Main Stage TS Ensemble Band from 12pm-3pm; The Rogues from 3pm-6pm; and The Refrigerators from 6pm-8pm. Authentic Italian Street Food & Drink. area restaurants will offer a full array of Italian Street Food & Drink. Eggplant, Arancini (rice balls), Ziti & Meatball, Cavatelli, Lemon Ice & Gelato, and Sausage & Peppers are just a few of the choices! Beer and Wine will also be flowing. NEW THIS YEAR. The StreetFest has something for everyone including craft booths, children’s activities and an Italian cultural tent that will offer Italian educational information, sing-alongs in Italian. NEW to the festivities this year: a (tomato) pie eating contest; stage side VIP seating available for purchase; and a child-centered extension called “Bambini Blvd” with activities, music and food for the little ones and a bouncy bounce too. King & Queen of the StreetFest. Each year, the Little Italy business community chooses a King & Queen to crown in recognition of their exemplary commitment and service to the City of Schenectady. This year, Neil and Mona Golub will be recognized for their city-wide contributions. This presentation takes place on the main stage at 5pm. The Little Italy StreetFest happens rain or shine! There is ample free parking in area lots. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs.
