Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival - Opening Night

Opening Night of the 16th annual Sebastopol Documentary Film festival is hosted by Sebastopol Center for the Arts. This red-carpet event begins with a culinary welcome reception followed by a 7 p.m. screening of Exposure, a gripping and cinematic adventure doc from director Holly Morris. As visually stunning as it is thrilling, the film captures the unbelievable adventure of a group of women from Arab and European worlds who meet, train, and ski to the North Pole on what may be the last ever expedition to the top of the world. It is a story of pitfalls and determination, of polar bear threats and frostbite set against the breathtaking backdrop of a natural world that is slipping away. The evening’s festivities will wrap with the presentation of the 2023 Franklin J. Schaffner Jury Awards for Best Feature, Short and Mini-Doc. SDFF is an Academy Award® Qualifying Festival. Tickets to Opening Night are $50 and can be purchased now at sebdocs.org, along with tickets to all SDFF 2023 films. Live and Virtual Passes are also available. The 16th Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival runs March 16-19, 2023 in multiple theatres at the Rialto Cinemas and Center for the Arts. Many screenings will be attended by the filmmakers. Open to all ages, the live festival is followed by a Virtual Festival March 20-29, which features a selection of films from the live fest. Look for the Festival's Curtain Raiser on March 12th!
