Our film festival set in gorgeous Brookings, Oregon USA will highlight the lifestyle, passions, nature, environment, sports, creative arts, music, culinary and libations of our great community along the magical and austere West Coast.
South Coast Oregon Film Festival is a non-profit organization and the goal is to help our local economy by gaining tourism off season and the profits are slated to fund arts, film and music for our children and teens.
We plan to showcase local documentaries, impactful environmental shorts and host a 48-hour film contest. Our film fest winners will be granted with the “Elmo Award”, to honor Elmo Williams, (1913-2015) Elmo was an American Film, Television Editor, Producer, Director and Executive. His work on the film “High Noon” (1952) received the Academy Award for Best Film Editing, among many other films he worked on along with his brilliant editing and many accomplishments. Elmo and his wife Lorraine Williams lived in Brookings, Oregon, until the age of 102.
Our board members are, Judy Wong Dobberpuhl – Alchemist Of Fun (President); Robert Lovell – Chief Popcorn Popper (Vice President); Lori Stoddard-Gallo – Head Creative Luna (Secretary); Miranda Plagge – Czar Of Splicey (Treasurer). We will be working on logistics, sponsorships, donations, memberships and volunteers.
