SPIRIT's 7th Annual Summer Recess Music & Food Festival

SPIRIT's 7th Annual Summer Recess Festival Summer Recess is our biggest and wildest party of the year. It’s an all-day all-night anything goes food & music festival starting outside at 2pm and moving inside at 9pm. Daytime festival goers can eat, shop, and mingle with a thoughtfully curated group of some of our favorite local vendors, plus interact with and support countless artists within the community. The Main Stage will return to 51st Street, in front of Spirit, featuring Baltimore-based electronic recording artist Dan Deacon as the headlining act. Spiritual folk singer/songwriter Frank Hurricane will headline the Garden Stage outside, and NY dance music veteran Eli Escobar will finish out the event headlining the Hall stage after dark. Nighttime sees the festivities shift indoors to two levels of live performances, with food available from Spirit’s late-night pizza kitchen and full bars on both floors. The outdoor portion of the festival is free from 2-5pm, open to people of all ages, and will run from 2pm until 9pm. The 21+ night portion runs from 9pm until 2am. Outdoor day passes are $5, indoor night passes are $10, and combined are $15. Musical performances this year will include: 51ST STREET STAGE: Dan Deacon, The Sewerheads, Las Hormiguitas, The Garment District, Cam Chambers, Truth & Rites, and Moon Baby GARDEN STAGE: Frank Hurricane, A Low Rose Trellis, Destiny Inn, Same, 3rd Set Jerry, and Slim Forsythe with Molly Alphabet SPIRIT LODGE: Mento Fellini, Crush Curl, Larval State, I4A, Giling, Ancient History, and Ed Um SPIRIT HALL: Eli Escobar, a drag show with Moon Baby, and Naeem Vendors this year will include Pittsburgh Taco Boys, Bitter Ends, Caffe D’Amore, Pure Grub, The Fat Butcher, Spirit Wood Fired Pizza, Nied’s Fish Fry, Millie’s Homemade Lawrenceville, Piebird, PGH Cotton Candy Co., PGH Dumplingz, Paul Haggerty Design, Streekers Vintage, Dave Watt, Shop Collarbone, Flipping Records, Ki The Barber, Erica Mirella Tattoo, Lizzie Solomon Studios, Dan Tomcik, Justseeds Collective, Social Living, Megan Shalonis, Matt Hunter & Gabrielle Fischer, Teal Fitzpatrick, Carrie Battle Cuts, and Commonwealth Press.
