St. Charles Homecoming Picnic

The 123rd St. Charles Homecoming Picnic, which got its start as an annual celebration to bring together parishioners and community members in the Genoa area, will serve food from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 5th, at the church, 707 Eagle St., Genoa, Wis. Each meal includes grilled chicken and sides from Pogy's Catering, as well as a serving of homemade risotto, which is a cheesy rice delicacy passed down through generations of Italian immigrants who settled in the area. The event got its start as an annual celebration on Independence Day, but it's now held the first Sunday in July. Many highlights of past Homecoming celebrations will be featured including food, raffles, and a number of games for kids. Entry is free and open to the public. Meals cost $15 each; or $6 for a smaller hot dog plate.
