2025 St. George Cathedral Summer Festival St. George Orthodox Cathedral is proud to announce its 2025 Annual Summer Festival on August 15, 16, 17 2025. It will be held on the Cathedral grounds at 3754 Woodley Road. On Friday, August 15th the Middle Eastern Festival gate will open at 5:00 PM. It will continue on Saturday, August 16th at 4:00 PM, and close on Sunday, August 17th from noon until 5:00 PM. Admission is $5.00 per person, and children 10 and under are free. This year’s festival will feature the local bands of Madison Avenue on Friday night from 7-11, and My 80’s Vice on Saturday evening from 7-11. On Sunday we will be entertained by After Shock featuring our own Nate Khoury and Dave Hairabedian from 2-5. And of course, Middle Eastern music, and Arabic dancing will entertain the crowd throughout the weekend. Middle Eastern and American food will be available for purchase. Favorites will include sfeeha (meat pies), green beans and rice, baked kibbe (a meat and wheat mixture), grape leaf rolls, and the Middle Eastern pastries that everyone craves. In the Fast Food area Middle Eastern and American sandwiches, French fries, and the ever-popular Zalabee (elephant ears) are among the smells filling the air. Adult beverages and soft drinks will quench all thirsty desires. A children’s area will include kiddie carnival games, crafts, and bouncy houses. Sand art and face painting will also be among the activities to keep the children busy. Self-guided church tours will run throughout the festival hours. Our beloved priest, Very Reverend Archpriest Michael Shaheen, will be available for any questions that may arise. Church memorabilia and novelties will be available for sale. Many more family friendly surprises will be offered for a fun filled weekend at St. George Cathedral on Woodley Road.
