St. John's Holiday Bazaar

St. John's welcomes and invites the broader Janesville community to experience the 18th Annual Holiday Bazaar. This event is a great way to start the holiday season. Guests can shop throughout the church building perusing crafts, quilts, upscale resale items, canned goods, frozen foods, gift baskets, bakery items, and one of the largest cookie/candy pay + weighs in the area. If the excitement of an auction is more your style, items will be posted the night before and bids are taken both online and in-person. If you have children or grandchildren, the "No Grown Ups Allowed" shop is a fun place for them to learn the joy of giving. They shop for $1, $2, or $3 items for their family, friends, and teachers. But NO grownups can peek at their shopping. (They will have a helper in the shop.) If you get hungry during the day, the Turkey Casserole Dinner is served 11am-1pm with $12 for adults and $6 for kids 10 and under. (Gluten free option available.) Guests can sit and dine or take it to-go.

The best part of the day is that all proceeds go to others locally, nationally, and internationally. St. John's local charity is the Evansville Fire Department which is in great need of a gas meter to prevent fires in homes. After the Vermont flooding and Minnesota tornadoes, St. John's will send funds to support the ongoing disaster relief. And internationally, St. John's will aid vulnerable migrant children and their families from Central America who are forced to flee their communities because of poverty, lack of opportunities, displacement, and chronic violence in the region. But the generosity doesn't stop there. A percentage of the day's proceeds will be invested in the Mission Endowment Fund of the church. Each year the congregation gives away the earnings to local, national, and international charities. (Just last year, $8,000 was given away!)
