Ian Davenport: Poured Staircase

Turner Award nominated Ian Davenport submerges the walkways and staircase of The Tide in a
reimagining of his instantly recognisable, multi-coloured poured lines paintings. Poured Staircase
glides down the Tide steps and pools onto Peninsula Square. His first ever outdoor site-specific work
joins London’s first elevated park.

Marwan Kaabour: River in Verse

Independent graphic designer and visual artist Marwan Kaabour uses the many languages spoken by
the Peninsula’s communities to create a ‘love letter’ to the river Thames. Words and illustrations are
woven through this dynamic work, which changes with the light, wrapping the Tide walkways in a
kaleidoscope of colour.

Pop-up Film Weekender in partnership with Pop Up Screens will keep screen geeks big and small
smiling with classics from The Gruffalo to The Goonies and Everything Everywhere All At Once, plus
cinema treats at Canteen. Design District is partnering with Century Films to host the screening of a
series of shorts including the debut of Morningtown, a short feature with Christopher Eccleston, filmed
and edited in Design District.
Greenwich + Docklands International Festival: RoZéo by Gratte Ciel

theatre and performing arts. As part of GDIF, Greenwich Peninsula welcomes French aerialists
company Gratte Ciel with the UK premier of RoZéo, a gravity-defying performance reflecting the
wonder of the Peninsula’s natural riverside ecology.

offering people the chance to explore the District’s much celebrated architecture with architect-led

Murugiah: Rangoli

Award-winning multi and interdimensional artist Murugiah continues his trajectory as London’s next big name with a site-specific installation launched as part of London Design Festival (16 September).
Celebrating Diwali the festival of light, the stunning light sculpture takes as its inspiration the Hindu tradition of Rangoli. Further cultural collaborations will include specialist food menus and community engagement workshops (craft / drawing / film) at Canteen and Bureau, dance performances and a ‘drawing with senses’ Big Draw event 1-31 October.

Turning Tides, the free music festival, returns to Greenwich Peninsula for a weekend of eclectic
live performances. This festival marks the last celebration at Greenwich Peninsula’s Summer
Sessions, as Turning Tides brings together the creative community for the closing of the series
(and sadly the summer).
