Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio (DLO3) specializes in the lost art of “feel-good music.” With a mix of the 1960s organ jazz stylings of Jimmy Smith and Baby Face Willette, the snappy soul strut of Booker T. & The M.G.’s, The Meters, and sprinkles of Motown, Stax Records, blues, and cosmic Jimi Hendrix-style guitar, it’s a soul-jazz concoction that goes straight to your heart and makes your body break out in a sweat! The trio has released five albums, with an upcoming album set to release on Blue Note Records. Last appearing at TD JazzFest 2022, the band is virtuosic organist Delvon Lamarr, with Ashley Ickes drums, Brice Calvin guitar. Embodying the vibrant Chicago music culture, Lowdown Brass Band is a one-of-a-kind horn ensemble weaving the rhythm of the streets with conscious hip hop, reggae, and soul. The band last played at TD JazzFest in 2023, and have proven to be a high energy, dance-orientated performance that wows audiences. Their 2024 album $itizens of the World further pushes the boundaries of their genre.
