The Maritime Festival is a time for families and friends to celebrate Harbor Beach's maritime history together. The festival is full of activities for kids, teens and adults. Most activities are free as well as entry into the festival. There is a fee to park at Lincoln Memorial Park, the one time parking pass is good for the entire festival weekend. Almost all activities take place at Lincoln Memorial Park (the beach) or adjacent to the park. Rustic Camping at Lincoln Memorial Park is available for $100 for the Wednesday-Sunday. (online pre-registration is required) Food and beverages are available at the concession stand, food trucks, Zion Concessions, and the American Legion Hall.
Maritime kicks off on Wednesday evening with the Hospital Foundation's 5K. You'll find Yoga on the Beach Thursday morning while enjoying the sunrise over Lake Huron. The library book sale begins on Thursday and runs through Saturday.
Thursday evening is the 64 team bocce tournament (online pre-registration is required and sells out) along with the BNT Band performing on the beach stage.
Friday's excitement includes the 64 team cornhole tournament (online pre-registration is required and sells out) and the lighted boat parade (line up is at the Harbor Beach Municipal Marina) and does not have an entry fee. All boats with lights are welcome! Billy Gunther and the Midwest Riders perform on the beach stage from 5-7 pm, followed by The Sinclairs from 8 pm until midnight. The Farmers Market is open from noon-5 pm.
Saturday is chucked full of activities, races and competitions. Free activities include the sand castle building competition, kids bike and pet parade, kids carnival, bounce houses, pet trick and frog jumping competitions, live music and fireworks. Spectators are welcome to watch all events and activities for free including all the above and the "Battle on the Beach" Strongman Competition, jet ski races (online pre-registration is required, jet ski provided), co-ed volleyball tournament (online pre-registration is required), Lake Huron Dance performance, craft show and bands The Pulse, 5-7:30 pm and 50 AMP Fuse, 8:30 pm-midnight. Lighthouse Tours are from 9 am- noon. Tickets can be purchased at www.harborbeachlighthouse.org.
Sunday may be the final day of the festival, but is a full day! A prayer service at the beach gets the day started You'll find a car show on the Murphy Museum Lawn, the craft show continues for its second day, and a fish fry and dueling pianos under the tent. The Maritime Festival wraps up at 3 pm with the annual big money raffle!
In addition to all the activities there are the beach, lake, harbor, pier, and playscape that offer family fun of their own. It's a wonderful weekend to visit Harbor Beach with family and friends!
