The National Capital Cabaret Festival

Capital Cabaret presents its third annual National Capital Cabaret Festival on March 27-29, 2025 at Parlour Victoria, Washington, D.C. This year’s Festival features well-known local cabaret singers, as well as burgeoning artists and the voices of the organization, some of whom have national and international followings. There also will be an open mic event, with piano accompaniment, for singers of all levels to raise their voices! Singers bring your sheet music . . . Capital Cabaret is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes and educates about the art form of cabaret. The magic of cabaret is a connection between singer and audience members through story-telling and song. In this way, cabaret is more than just a performance, it is community. Capital Cabaret warmly invites Festival guests to be a part of that community, joining together to create and celebrate the power of cabaret. See you at the Festival! Festival Schedule March 27, 2025 - 6:30pm: Friends in Song - Join Lauren Comito, Anthony Galace, John Martinez, & Emily Tavenner for a night of song and story-telling from 4 people, who’s friendship developed from our Open Mic and the cabaret art form! This performance will showcase some amazing local talent who share a love of song and the community cabaret builds! March 27, 2025 - 8:30pm: Free Open Mic! Join our performers and other local singers in a celebration of cabaret! Bring your sheet music and sing out with our professional accompanist! March 28, 2025 - 6:30pm: The Emerging Artist Showcase - Susan Derry showcases a group of up and coming talent from the DC area! Working with area universities, Susan will use her experience as a cabaret performer and adjunct professor to select a group of students to perform their own arrangements under the direction of Music Director Howard Breitbart. For many students, this will be their first taste of being on the stage alone, and we welcome you to come and celebrate these new artists! March 28, 2025 - 8:30pm: Anja Dick is... Chanteussy - A live music drag concert from Drag Chanteuse Anja Dick with ultra-talented Andrew Gordon that will take you for a ride around the world of love ballads, from Sondheim to Sir Mix-a-Lot…with a drag twist! March 29, 2025 - 6:30pm: An Evening of Eclectic Songs with “Diva01 Charisma Wooten” – Salute to Women’s History Month. Join the Diva of DC as she takes you on a journey of song to celebrate amazing women from history. March 29, 2025 - 8:30pm: Come Hear the Cabaret! Celebrate the finale of the Festival with Capital Cabaret's own Rachel Dougan, Craig Pomranz, Roger Schmelzer, & Ron Squeri, with surprise guests! These passionate cabaret artists - who perform nationally and internationally - devote themselves to promoting and preserving the art form.
