To celebrate their 26th year in existence and as a precursor to St. Valentine's Day, the Goliards will perform The Rose and the Nightingale, a program of Trouvere love songs and motets from 13th-century France on Saturday, February 8 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Francis of the Islands Episcopal Church (590 Walthour Rd.,Savannah 31410). The program will be repeated on Sunday, February 9 at 4:00 P.M. at St. George's Episcopal Church (15 Willow Rd., Savannah 31419). Admission will be $20.00.
For those who arrive a half-hour early John Hillenbrand will go over the program notes and answer any questions that audience members may have. It should be noted that early arrivals will be able to get the seats with the best sight-lines in the two churches. Also of note is the maiden performance of Anne Acker's new portative organ.
