The UCAP School Spring Social Fundraiser

This annual event includes a reception with delicious food and drinks, student-led tours of The UCAP School, awesome live auction emceed by Providence's own Joe Wilson, Jr., and presentation of the Rob DeBlois For All Kids Award this year honoring Amica Insurance.

All proceeds from the Spring Social help UCAP students receive the specialized support they need to catch up in grade and thrive in high school and beyond! Because of generous donations from this event, we are able to offer personalized instruction, caring teachers and smaller class sizes. Sports, field trips and other out-of-school time programs are designed to help students stay safe and occupied, socialize and explore interests and potential career paths.

Since its founding in 1989, The UCAP School has served the Rhode Island community as an independent public middle school dedicated to leveling the playing field for students at risk of falling behind. UCAP serves approximately 140 students each year in grades 7 and 8. UCAP is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of urban youth by focusing on the crucial middle school years. Funds are raised to support after school and enrichment programs, academic programs, and the school building.

UCAP provides high quality education, enrichment and recreational programs as well as social/emotional support, out-of-school time programs daily during the school year as well as some weekends, holidays and during the summer. These programs give students a safe and supervised space outside of school hours to form peer relationships in social settings, get out of their neighborhoods and experience other parts of the region, and explore potential career paths. 100% of UCAP's programs and services are provided free of charge.
