Start: Monday, March 2, 2026 7:30PM
End: Monday, March 2, 2026 10:00PM
Join us in the stunning Orpheum theatre March 2, 2026 at 7:30pm to enjoy a screening of It (1927) starring Clara Bow while a soundtrack is played live on the theatre’s rare Wurlitzer organ, an instrument originally created to accompany silent films and the last in Canada still in its original home. Clara Bow – the real-life subject of Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets Department song by the same name – is magnetic in the role of a plucky shop girl named Betty, who is enamored with the wealthy owner of the department store where she works and determined to catch his attention. The film was a box office smash and launched Clara Bow into global stardom, making her the first-ever “It Girl”. An evening at Silent Movie Mondays also includes a live Jazz Band performance one hour before the show, popcorn & drink specials, and a fun post-show talk from Vancouver Film School’s Keith Blackmore. Tickets start at only $15.50! For tickets and more information, visit: vancouvercivictheatres.com
