Veteran Surf Alliance Memorial Day Ceremony and Paddle Out

Join us to commemorate those who made the ultimate sacrifice by attending Veteran Surf Alliance's 7th Annual Memorial Day Paddle Out. All are invited to bring a photograph or memento of their fallen loved one to place on our Honor Table. We begin with a Welcome and brief overview of the event, then Posting of the Colors and National Anthem sung by local musician Alex Lucero. Following a speech by a veteran and VSA member, the Te Hau Nui School of Hula and Tahitian Dance will give a Hawaiian Blessing and perform the hula. After the Color Guard retires the Colors, instructions for the paddle out are given to those who wish to participate, and flowers distributed. Once the paddle out circle is formed, and with the Coast Guard standing by, Taps will sound, the fallen will be remembered, and flowers will be left behind as a floating memorial.
