Off The Beaten Path by Patrick Shearn of Poetic Kinetics Off The Beaten Path, commissioned and designed by Patrick Shearn of Poetic Kinetics, exclusively for Green Box, is the latest in Shearn’s Skynet Art Series. Inspired by the graceful murmuration of birds flocking together, or schools of fish coalescing and moving simultaneously, these floating kinetic sculptures are a constant reminder of nature moving around us. Each site-specific Skynet installation, like Off The Beaten Path, reveals unseen natural wind elements unique to that location. Intentionally constructed from ultra-lightweight materials, the artwork is rigged inconspicuously to harness wind and activate the piece in a mesmerizing dance. The result Is a peaceful and immersive experience for all who encounter it. Sunset Over Gazebo Lake by Sarah Wright Sarah Wright is a Colorado Springs-based abstract artist focusing on crisp lines and bold colors to express her works. “My work is heavily influenced by my environment: nature, music, people, and places. I translate those influences and inspirations into abstract works full of color and shapes which become segmented much like a stained-glass window. I grew up in Oklahoma and my first inclination that I was going to be an artist was being inspired by the “big sky” and its colors and dramatic scenes.” A New Installation by Yasuaki Onishi Japanese artist, Yasuaki Onishi, is a Green Box Artist in Residence in 2025. The work he is developing while in residence this spring, will be on view inside Lakeview Terrace this summer! A New Installation by CoCo Ree Lemery Chicago-based artist, CoCo Ree Lemery, is also a Green Box Artist in Residence in 2025.
