AUGUST 18TH, APPLE CAKE CONTEST: Everyone can show up at the Family Stage with their entry. Apple Cake Contest - $25.00 award Open to anyone over 18 years of age Sponsored by Wheatland Insurance Must be a Wasco County Resident Any form is acceptable, loaf, sheet or round Must be a cake, not a tart or pie Must be home-baked by exhibitor Displayed on a paper plate in a plastic bag or plastic wrap AUGUST 19TH, CUPCAKES CONTEST: Everyone can show up at the Family Stage with their entry. Cupcake Contest - $25.00 award. Sponsored by Wheatland Insurance Open to Youth 4-18 years of age Must be a Wasco County Resident or Grandchild of a Wasco County Resident Any form is acceptable, loaf, sheet or round Must be home-baked and decorated as the baker wishes Must be displayed 4 cupcakes on a paper plate in a plastic bag or plastic wrap AUGUST 20TH, HOT DOG EATING CONTEST: Hot Dog Contestants!! Please pre-register! Hot Dog Contest - $25 and gift basket. Age Groups: 12-18 & Adults 19+ Hot dogs, buns, and water are supplied by Fred Meyer. Each contestant has 10 minutes to consume as many hot dogs and buns of uniform size and weight as they can. Contestants are provided one plate at a time--each with 5 hot dogs and buns. Ketchup and mustard are provided but not mandatory. Water is provided by the fair, competitors can being their own - no alcohol - will be provided 13 cups each Competitors can dunk hot dogs and buns in cups for no longer than 5 seconds. Hot Dogs and buns can be separated, can be broken into pieces but only if a portion of the hot dog is eaten then an equal portion of the bun must be eaten, or vice versa. No utensils allowed. The contestant who finishes the most hot dogs in 10 minutes WINS!!!
