Join Oshkosh's prolific Director, Herb Berendsen, as he leads the Appleton MacDowell Male Chorus in song with special guest artist Janet Planet. The event will be presented at the Oshkosh First Congregational Church. This is the 91st Anniversary Season performance for MacDowell, offering a concert of hope and inspiration for a fast-moving world. MacDowell is an all-volunteer group of men from all over NE Wisconsin who enjoy singing and fellowship. More than 874 men have been part of the chorus during its 91 years in the Fox Valley arts scene, donating their talents during hundreds of shows and events all over the Midwest. Rehearsals are in the Appleton Xavier High chorus room on Mondays from 7 pm to 9 pm, September through April, with a holiday break. As always, men who enjoy singing and are interested in learning more about the chorus are welcome to visit during rehearsals to hear them sing and to get first-hand information. The only requirement to join is a desire to sing as part of the chorus to create joy and memories for audiences. Song learning is easy. Many men learn the pieces by ear during rehearsals even though sheet music is provided to all.
