Spread Your Wings at the Wings on the Wind Science and Nature Festival Abilene, TX – Science and nature take center stage at the annual Wings on the Wind Science and Nature Festival, set to take place on Saturday, April 12, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Abilene State Park. This family-friendly event is a celebration of the great outdoors, offering hands-on experiences and interactive learning opportunities for all ages. The festival is free to attend, with a $5 per car entry fee to the park. Visitors can participate in a variety of engaging activities, including art and games, as well as science and nature stations designed to inspire curiosity and appreciation for the environment. Attendees will have the opportunity to measure their own wingspan, learn how to cast a fishing rod, and explore the vastness of the solar system. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy amidst the park’s natural beauty, or they can visit one of the on-site food trucks for a delicious meal. The Big Country Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists proudly sponsors the Wings on the Wind Science and Nature Festival. This dedicated group of trained volunteers works to provide education, outreach, and service for the sustainable management of natural resources in Texas communities. The Texas Master Naturalist program is a collaborative effort between the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Come experience a day filled with discovery, learning, and outdoor fun at Abilene State Park!
