Wiscasset Wormfest

As dubbed by National Geographic 20 years ago, Wiscasset holds a unique claim to fame as the "worm capital of the world," boasting a rich tradition of worm digging that stretches back generations. Wormfest is a community celebration of this quirky yet integral part of our town's history. Specific events will include: -a wader relay race -mud pie eating contest -opening ceremonies featuring the National Anthem played by the Wiscasset Middle School Band -80s cover band Deadly Desire from 12-2pm -Wedding/Cover band Something Stupid from 5-8pm -Free carnival games throughout the day -Free hot dogs and popcorn for kids while supplies last -Food and craft vendors -Historical exhibit with a raffle just for those in the digging industry Come celebrate our working waterfront and join us on June 8 for a day of fun, food, and of course, worms!
