WNC Votes Nonpartisan Canvassing Event

Every WNC Votes canvass starts with thorough training and practice time, and canvassers knock on doors in teams of two. First-timers are always welcome and find it easy to canvass with a partner.

On July 20th we'll start at the YWCA of Asheville for training, then go out into nearby walkable neighborhoods

We'll be using a method called deep canvassing - a way of engaging in longer, more voter-centered conversations that build on voters' feelings that their votes matter. The people we talk to are happy to see us and get the new info we provide.

We provide training, all materials - even water and snacks! - and support throughout.

Listening to people's concerns and providing needed information has a big impact on voter turnout. Nonpartisan canvassing is all about helping people believe that their voices count.

WNC Votes is a group of organizations and individuals working together to increase turnout in 2024, with a mission to engage, educate and empower voters who are often left out and left behind. Current partners include the YWCA of Asheville, the Poor People's Campaign-NC, Just Economics of WNC, and Asheville Food and Beverage United (AFBU), as well as Indivisible AVL.
