Women in The Arts Reunion Festival

37th Annual Women in the Arts Festival November 11th & 12th The 37th Annual Women in the Arts Festival will be held November 11th and 12th at the Edgewood United Church in East Lansing! This year's festival will be very special - it will be two days filled with reunion shows.  We are honored to present two of Lansing's long time favorite groups for their first shows in a decade or two -  Half Looking (Hez Naylor, Lisa Corbett, Holly Miller, Tammy Cook & Murray Stewart Jones) Friday night and Nervous But Excited (Kate Peterson & Sarah Cleaver) Saturday evening.  The Day Stage on Saturday will continue the reunion theme, with performances by The Instigators (Joyce Hagerman, Suzanne Levy, and Rebecca Hoogstraten), Repercussions (drumming ensemble), Sistrum - Lansing Women's Chorus, comic Christine Sayers, Sometimes Y (Cindy Lehmkuhle, Lisa Sarno, and Stephanie Hasley-Sarno) and Murrdawg and the Low Down Dirty Strays (Murray Stewart-Jones, Jen Sygit, and Tammy Cook).  Each set of the day will be introduced with a spoken word piece by a member of Voices of the Revolution. In addition to these fabulous reunion shows, the Women in the Arts Festival also features an amazing artists market and scrumptous food offered through the Sistrum Cafe. A celebration of women’s creativity that features a variety of artists, musicians and poets as a symbol of our commitment to support women in the creative pursuits, this volunteer-run yearly gathering creates a space for women to showcase their talents.
