San Francisco Bay Area-based band Wreckless Strangers will bring their high-energy blend of “Bay Area Gumbo” to the historic Crazy Horse Saloon in Nevada City on Friday, March 21, for a double-bill show with Ginger Molasses. Some of the band’s recent highlights include playing an artist spotlight at the prestigious NAMM music trade show, the release of their acclaimed EP Blue Sky Fantasy, and being named to Music Connection Magazine’s Hot 100 for 2024.

Wreckless Strangers is a collective of friends and musicians carrying the torch for San Francisco’s grand rock ‘n’ roll tradition. Their unique stew of Bay Area Gumbo melds the contemporary blues stylings of Bonnie Raitt and Boz Scaggs; the songwriting sensibilities of Sons of Champlin and Fleetwood Mac; the swashbuckling Americana of the Lost Planet Airmen and Peter Rowan; and the funk of Sly Stone and Tower of Power with a dash of Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane for flavor and unpredictability. With soaring vocal harmonies and burning instrumental improvisation, framed in concise and poignant original songwriting, Wreckless Strangers seek to honor and carry forth the brand of free-spirited musical fun and adventure that defines the Bay Area.  

The band features Amber Morris on lead vocals; David Noble on lead guitar, lead vocals; Joshua Zucker on bass, vocals; Mick Hellman on drums, vocals; Rob Anderson on guitar, vocals; and special guest Eamonn Flynn on keys. Collectively, members of Wreckless Strangers have worked with Miley Cyrus, Peter Rowan, Highway Wolf, Ismay, Boz Scaggs, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Olivia Wolf, Laurie Lewis, and more! Their latest EP, “Blue Sky Fantasy,” was produced by four-time Grammy award-winning engineer/producer Dave Way, who has worked with renowned artists including Aretha Franklin, Fiona Apple, Tracy Chapman, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Sheryl Crow, and many more. He has dozens of gold and platinum records to his name, along with No. 1 and Top 20 hits.

Blue Sky Fantasy, released in the Fall of 2024 and available now on all streaming platforms, is a sonic adventure that showcases the band’s evolution with a cohesive blend of tracks that highlight their range and artistic growth. Blue Sky Fantasy offers a dynamic mix of powerful guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and stand-out vocals.  From the uplifting anthem of the opening track on, "I Found a Way," to the soulful determination of the closer, "Never Give Up," each track is a testament to the band's creativity and relentless passion for their craft.
