Yarnstock is a brand new craft and camping festival taking place from 26th–28th September at the Lower Lode Inn, Tewkesbury. Set right by the River Severn, it’s a colourful weekend celebrating creativity, community and all things fibre art, with a warm, friendly atmosphere that welcomes everyone — whether you’re an avid crafter, curious beginner or just after a relaxing riverside escape. The festival features a wide variety of crochet, knitting and sewing workshops, perfect for all skill levels, plus a bustling makers’ market with stalls selling unique handmade goods, yarn, fabrics and more. It’s the ideal place to pick up something special or get inspired by talented local artisans. A major highlight is the community yarnbombing caravan project. Ahead of the festival, people from across the region (and beyond!) are contributing knitted, crocheted or stitched squares and flowers that will come together to completely transform a caravan into a vibrant, joyful fibre art installation. It’s a wonderful collaborative effort that showcases how creativity can bring people together. If you’d like to add your own squares or flowers to the project, you can find details on how to contribute at www.yarnstock.co.uk. But Yarnstock isn’t just about crafting — it’s a full weekend festival experience with entertainment for everyone. Throughout the weekend, local entertainment team GlenTertainment will be hosting a lively programme including family games, a quiz, bingo, disco, karaoke and even a live singer, adding to the festival atmosphere and ensuring there’s always something happening. Entry to the festival is completely free, with small fees only for camping and workshops, so it’s accessible for all. Visitors can book a pitch and camp for the whole festival to really soak in the experience, enjoying hearty pub food at the Lower Lode Inn and evening entertainment by the river. Or you’re just as welcome to drop by for a day to browse the market, take in the yarnbomb, watch a workshop or join in the fun. Yarnstock is also inviting local makers and small businesses to book stalls, host paid workshops or offer free craft demos, making it a brilliant opportunity to showcase skills and connect with a friendly audience that truly appreciates handmade. So whether you’re coming to learn something new, meet fellow creatives, shop for beautiful handmade items or simply enjoy a laid-back autumn weekend full of colour and laughter, Yarnstock promises a truly unique festival experience. Find out more, book your camping pitch, sign up for workshops, or see how to get involved at www.yarnstock.co.uk. We’d love to see you there!
