The Spirit of Yosemite: Everything Is Better in the Mountains
Sixth annual Yosemite Music Festival set for July 6-7
Mariposa is a small mountain town just outside Yosemite National Park that is home to the annual Yosemite Music Festival. Ask any Mariposa resident what they like about living here and you will undoubtedly get some variation of “everything is just better in the mountains”. Come experience this for yourself at the 2018 Yosemite Music Festival Friday, July 6th and Saturday, July 7th. Gates are open 1:00 p.m. to midnight on Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, July 7th. Music lovers can round out the weekend with an easy side trip to celebrated Yosemite National Park.
Ticket prices range from $35 a day to $50 for an early bird weekend pass. Youth rates are available; children 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased on the website (www.yosemitemusicfestival.com), on Facebook at www.facebook.com/yosemitemusicfestival or at the Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce.
We take pride in providing an authentic small town experience built around great music and of course our amazing Sierra Mountain environment. First and foremost we take great pains to offer a diverse lineup of bands that emphasizes musicianship and song writing over a specific genre. You won’t know every band in our lineup but you will walk away a new fan of many of them. The Yosemite Music Festival takes place at the family friendly 36 acre Mariposa Fairgrounds with large open lawns and shady areas for cooling down on hot summer days. A kid zone features daily activities for children. Festival goers can purchase beverages, beer, crafts and affordable food on site or bring their own spread. Downtown Mariposa is a short four minute drive away for offsite dining and shopping. Make sure to look for the Made In Mariposa logo to see the handiwork of local artisans.
Visitors to the Yosemite Music Festival will be close to many cherished Mountain activities such as hiking, mountain biking, zip lining, and swimming in our local lakes and rivers. Bring the whole family to the Yosemite Music Festival and discover the magic and music of the Sierras.
