Start: Sunday, September 6, 2026 12:00PM
End: Sunday, September 6, 2026 5:00PM
The 138th Annual Tomales Festival will be held at High Noon on Labor Day Sunday, September 6th.
Join us in the Community Park (in between the Catholic church and the William Tell House) to celebrate with friends and neighbors. This year we're featuring music by the Blues Defenders, plus fresh oysters, beer, wine, food, and drink. Local arts and crafts, plus displays from local organizations and non-profits. The festival is (and always has been) created, organized, and carried out by volunteers from the local community.
This local tradition has quite a history: it was the Swiss-Italian celebration from 1888 until 1994, when it became Founder's Day and later the Tomales Festival. That's 138 years worth of parades, picnics, and parties. This event benefits the Tomales Town Hall, which is a non-profit community center.
Special thanks to Kathryn LeMieux for once again allowing us to use her whimsical cow painting as our festive logo. And thanks to our contributors. The Hog Island Oyster Company and The Marshall Store contributed the shellfish. Morris Distributing is providing our beer supply. Recology Sonoma/Marin is providing trash containers and is donating garbage service. We are grateful to our sponsor Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT).
