3rd Annual (Neighbor) Hood Festival

The 3rd Annual (Neighbor) Hood Fest focus is on building unity and attracting visitors by exploring the history of the city of Baton Rouge and Louisiana’s unique and diverse cultural communities. It also has a film component that takes a look at industries and adventures offered in the state. The festival has music and films, a Vendor Village and food court. A Hot Dog Eating Contest is also a part of the festival and there’s a children’s area. Musical talent to date includes Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor, Ervin Foster and the My Better Half Band, King Solomon Willis, (Louisiana) Claude Hitt, Dixie Rose and David Comeaux. The film component this year focuses on industries and adventure in Louisiana, with filmmakers Oscar Tickle and Charles Bush, who have produced The Search for “Swamp Cows,” “Shrimp Gate” and “Music Dreams, An American Story.”  These documentaries are followed by Q&A’s.
