The Boat Float n’ Folk Festival at Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum takes place on Saturday, June 13 and offers a full day of canal history, live entertainment, and family fun. The event begins with the boat launch from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, where visitors can bring or rent boats to take to the water and experience a unique piece of living history along the waterway. Following the launch, festival activities run from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and feature live folk music, craft vendors, food trucks, hands-on demonstrations, and activities for all ages. Guests can explore a variety of traditional crafts and trades, including blacksmithing, woodworking, wool spinning, and other heritage skills that bring canal-era life to the present. Families will also find plenty of opportunities for engagement with kids’ crafts, games, and educational stations designed to be both fun and informative. Local food vendors and artisans will be on site throughout the day, offering a range of food and handmade goods to enjoy while exploring the festival grounds. Admission to the festival is free for all attendees. However, there are optional ticketed experiences that help support the event and programming: paddler tickets are $10, and shuttle tickets are $8. These contributions help ensure the continued success of the boat launch and festival activities.
