Breakfast Bonanza $12 supporting Project Homeless Connect

It seems that Spring is finally here (thankfully) and as March departs like a lamb and April approaches, it’s time to start planning for another breakfast. On Saturday, April 12 from 7:30-10:30am, Central Church will host the next of our monthly Breakfast Bonanzas (2nd Saturday of the month, October through May, weather permitting). The menu is: made-from-scratch biscuits, pancakes, scrambled eggs, gravy, bacon, sausage, coffee/milk/juice -- all-you-can-eat. $12 for adults, $6 for kids 6-12. kids 5 and under eat free. All of the profits from this breakfast will be donated to Project Homeless Connect Jefferson City The mission of Project Homeless Connect (PHC) is to connect individuals in Jefferson City experiencing homelessness with the care and resources they need to move forward. PHC is a one-day event designed to help those who are homeless or near-homeless overcome barriers to permanent housing. With the support of local social service agencies, churches, businesses, and volunteers, this event aims to provide critical services that are often difficult to access. The services PHC offers on this day include basic medical care, dental extractions, access to benefits (Medicaid/food stamps), substance use and mental health, veterans benefits and services, bus passes, haircuts, hot lunch, housing resources, employment services, immunizations, and more. PHC envisions a day when all people are cared for and housed. Their core mission is to provide connections and care that help end homelessness for our neighbors while fostering a more compassionate Jefferson City. Project Homeless Connect is tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 26, and takes place on Capitol Ave. in the block between its three main sponsor churches: First Baptist Church - FBCJC, First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ (JCMO), and First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City. This is a noble and worthy cause, and we hope that you will not only support this effort by attending our breakfast, but by volunteering for the event itself. It truly is life-changing both for the people who go through the process and for the volunteers themselves, Central Church is located at 118 W. Ashley St. in Jefferson City, 2 blocks south of US50 between Broadway and Jefferson St. (Just look for our steeple.)
