Kick off the holiday season in Midtown Manhattan with the annual Fifth Avenue Snowflake Outdoor Illumination Ceremony, hosted by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, the Fifth Avenue Snowflake for Humanity Foundation and the Fifth Avenue Association.
Containing over 16,500 individual crystal prisms and weighing 3,300 pounds, the dazzling 30-foot-tall snowflake will be illuminated above the iconic shopping boulevard at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, in honor of St. Jude and its work for children and families facing pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases worldwide. Thanks to generous donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food — part of its mission: Finding cures. Saving children.®
The evening will feature St. Jude patient and childhood cancer survivor Imani and her family from Long Island, along with Faith, a 17-year-old from Oklahoma, who will help light the snowflake. The program will also include performances and remarks from St. Jude, the Fifth Avenue Snowflake Foundation and the Fifth Avenue Association.
The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required. For more info go to https://www.snowflakefoundation.org/
