End: Saturday, July 19, 2025 5:00PM
The Grand Union Community Hub (@grandunioncommunityhub) will be buzzing with local stalls, hands-on workshops and vibrant community showcases including cookie and cupcake decorating for kids hosted by London’s Community Kitchen, henna art, face-painting, handmade candles and more. Brent Health will also be on hand with tips and tricks to boost mental and physical wellbeing - offering guidance to help residents feel their very best.
An array of retailers will also be joining the fun with tastings, pop-ups and giveaways throughout the day. Keep an eye out for exclusive offers from the likes of Anytime Fitness and peer-to-peer car rental company Hiyacar too!
Bringing the perfect soundtrack to the afternoon, live performances will feature Zemphy (1–3pm) and Phil Lagos (3–5pm) on the main stage.
A range of activations will add to the lively atmosphere of the festival and include:
• The Ace Café pop up – an iconic local hangout spot for rockers, bikers and petrolheads since 1938 – which will be showcasing vintage memorabilia and even offering complimentary Ace Tea.
• Free paddleboard and canoe sessions on the Grand Union Canal - a fun and active way to experience the water, no experience needed.
• The Phase 4 Community Engagement Exhibition in the Community Hub, providing a unique chance to shape the next chapter of Grand Union. The team will welcome ideas and feedback on the future of the growing neighbourhood - it’s your opportunity to have a real say in what comes next.
• Incredible local volunteer group Friends of the Grand Union Canal will be running fun games focused on recycling and sustainability and speaking about how they’re helping turn the canal into a vibrant community asset, and how you can get involved in doing so.
• An exciting scavenger hunt and glitter face painting for kids by the Canal & River Trust.
• For those keen to learn more about the local area, a representative from Brent Council will be on hand to discuss the proposed pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Grand Union Canal which will open up pathways to the Abbey Estate and the shops beyond.
Beyond the festival fun, Grand Union is home to a diverse mix of retail, leisure and food & beverage offerings. Kids can enjoy Full of Beans soft play while parents relax at Crepes+Coffee – a café located in unique narrowboat PAVO on the edge of the canal which serves an array of tasty drinks from coffees and teas to cocktails and beers.
Visitors and residents can also pop into The Pantry – a community café run by the charity London’s Community Kitchen and local college students – which will be serving artisan pizzas.
For those travelling from across the city, the festival is easy to reach via public transport. Nearby Stonebridge Park and Alperton stations offer direct links from central London via the overground & Bakerloo line, and Piccadilly line, respectively.
For those new to Grand Union and keen to know more about life here, the St George Sales Team will be on hand to discuss the current homes for sale - including a selection of beautifully furnished homes ready to move into.
Grand Union is fast becoming an all-encompassing canalside community, comprising 3,350 homes, of which 35% are affordable, and 14 acres of open space. To support the growing community, developer St George is curating a dynamic mix of local amenities to ensure residents and visitors have everything they need to live well right on their doorstep. This includes an Anytime Fitness gym, Peapods nursery, Benham & Reeves estate agents and a convenient Co-op store.
Once complete, Grand Union will have an additional 11 acres of open space playing host to cafés and restaurants, a NHS medical centre, an amphitheatre, landscaped gardens, wildlife meadows and pathways, creating a unique waterside destination.
