Worcester Mela Festival takes place on Sunday 5 July 2026, 11am–7pm, bringing a vibrant celebration of culture, colour and creativity to the city.
Held at the University of Worcester City Campus, this free, one-day festival features live music, dance, food, workshops and family activities, uniting communities through shared cultural experiences.
Visitors can expect a lively atmosphere throughout the day, with performances from local artists Awantika Dubey, Tariq Saher, and the Dhol Crew, alongside market-style stalls, street food vendors and opportunities to explore South Asian food, fashion, arts and culture.
The festival launches Threads of Unity, a wider 2026 programme running across Worcester throughout July and early August, marking the start of South Asian Heritage Month under the national theme Unity in Diversity.
Programme highlights include the family performance Mughal Miniatures by Sonia Sabri Co., the Culinary Feast and MelaChef final, a community Poetry Slam, Qawwali Night with Salim Sabri Group, and the internationally acclaimed music collaboration Seven Eyes.
Together, these events form a city-wide celebration of diversity, creativity and community connection throughout the summer.
