2026 Ulverston International Music Festival: Serenade in the Park

Dyens Bluesette Granados Danza Española No. 10, Danza Triste Graeme Koehne A Closed World of Fine Feelings and Grand Design Back by popular demand, we return to Base at Ford Park, this time for a delicious two-course dinner at the Coach House created by Base head chef Mark Satterthwaite. Food selection is pre-ordered when purchasing tickets. Either side of dinner, as a ‘starter’ and a ‘postprandial’, you will be serenaded by the talented young guitarist Gus McQuade. From the nostalgic elegance of Barrios’s Choro da Saudade to the jazz-infused charm of Thielemans’s Bluesette, we will explore the many voices of the guitar – lyrical, rhythmic and deeply expressive. Granados’s Danza Triste adds a touch of Spanish melancholy, while Graeme Koehne’s A Closed World of Fine Feelings and Grand Design offers a lyrical glimpse into a reflective inner world.
