The Blue Night in Nuremberg is asingle-day cultural event that ad-vocates for global peace. It is an artcompetition where visitors can viewstunning installations, light shows,and other works like paintings andsculptures. The theme this year,“Love and Peace,” is tied to the 80thanniversary of the end of WorldWar II and the Nuremberg trials,and spans throughout the agesto the 1970’s hippie movement.Alongside the artwork, over 40cultural institutions will participatewith their own programs includingthe city archives, history museums,theatres and music halls. Everyyear, over 20,000 people come toenjoy the programs, live music andmuseums that are open for longerhours. A family program begins at 5p.m. and an adult program beginsat 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchasedonline. Children up to 14 years oldand individuals with a disability areoffered free entry.
