End: Sunday, June 28, 2026 9:00PM

The Parksville Museum is proud to announce the launch of its first-ever Storyteller Festival this June — a grassroots arts festival featuring more than 20 performances, workshops, and storytelling events, all taking place at the Museum. With programming spanning music, literary arts, spoken word, theatre, and family entertainment, the festival offers something for everyone. Running throughout the month, the festival showcases an exceptional roster of artists, including internationally touring performers and award-winning contributors to Canada’s arts and literary communities. The event also serves in part as a fundraiser for the non-profit Museum. Festival highlights include An Evening of Guitar Storytelling with Adam Dobres (June 4), Femme Drum Stories and Soundscapes with Joy on Drums (June 5), and Stirring Up Ghosts: Songs and Stories of Pacific Canada with Bruce Coughlan of Tillers Folly. Week two features Stars in Their Eyes: Mid-Island Romance Authors Spill the Tea, the acclaimed one-woman performance A Generation of Women by Kymme Patrick, and a pre–Summer Solstice concert with Eileen McGann. Later programming includes Folk Songs & Stories with Steve Somers; Magic, Mystery, & Mayhem, featuring mid-Island authors; and Murder and Mayhem in Story and Song with Norma Cameron and Susan Warner. Dream of Fairyland: Circus History in 1920s BC with Kim Bannerman leads into the Museum’s Summer Solstice Celebration on June 21st. The festival concludes with family-friendly including Pollinator Palooza on June 27, followed by family-friendly theatrical performances from comic chameleon David C. Jones. His steampunk-inspired shows, WARPED and SPACED OUT, bring humour, imagination, and lively audience participation to the stage, offering a playful finale to the festival.
